My Story

Naomi Hanna Kunstler Twickler (she/her) is originally from the Bay Area in California. In 2012, Naomi moved to the greater Chicago area to attend Northwestern University where she graduated cum laude in 2016 with a double major in Theatre and Psychology. Following her bachelor's degree, Naomi stayed in Chicago for her graduate education, and in 2018 she graduated with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, one of the nation's top training programs in the field of social work. At the University of Chicago, Naomi was first introduced to Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She also received a certification in Trauma-Informed Care through her graduate program.

Following her graduate degree, Naomi continued to scale the country to receive additional training in West Haven through the Veterans Affairs Post-Master's Social Work fellowship in psycho-social rehabilitation and recovery-oriented services. Through this fellowship, Naomi received certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Substance Use Disorders, Social Skills Training for Schizophrenia, and attended additional workshops in Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Through her post-master's training, Naomi worked in the psychiatric emergency room, psychiatric inpatient floor, trauma clinic, and housing case management.

Naomi has spent the most recent part of her career at Yale New Haven Health where she has worked in the intensive outpatient program and medical social work. While at Yale, Naomi attended the graduate seminar in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and went on to complete Behavioral Tech's Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Foundational Training.

In her free time, Naomi enjoys hiking, camping, cooking, reading, writing, napping, acting in local theater, hosting friends, watching football, and spending time with her husband and their rescue dog, Mackyln.
